Jo Ann & Stuart C. Nathan

Jo Ann Nathan began her undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin and transferred to the University of Michigan, where she received her BS and Certificate in Education in 1962. Her early career included teaching special education. In 1987, Mrs. Nathan received her Associate's degree in applied science and landscape design and the Certificate of Ornamental Horticulture from the College of Lake County.

Mrs. Nathan has continued to pursue her interests in landscape design and preservation and is currently an associate with the Jens Jensen Legacy Project of the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. This organization is dedicated to preserving and promoting prairie-style landscape architecture. Mrs. Nathan is a past member of the School of Natural Resources & Environment Board of Visitors. She is actively involved in several Chicago nonprofit organizations.

Stuart C. Nathan is currently a Principal with Cambridge Capital Partners (CCP) and has over thirty-two years of experience in equity investment, management and business operations. Prior to joining CCP in late 2004, he was Executive Vice President (from 1972 until his retirement in 2002) of JMB Realty Corporation, one of the nation’s largest and most successful real estate investment, development and management companies. At JMB, Mr. Nathan was responsible for or actively involved as a principal in many aspects of JMB’s various businesses including development of major projects, property acquisition, financing, hotel development and hotel operations. Although Mr. Nathan is no longer active in JMB’s day-to-day operations, he remains a member of its Board of Directors and as a principal stockholder.

During the last several years, Mr. Nathan has been active as an investor in real estate as well as operating businesses. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Lincoln Park Zoo and Facing History and Ourselves and as the co-chairman of the University of Michigan Chicago-area Major Gifts committee. From 1965 to 1973, Mr. Nathan was a practicing attorney and a partner in a Chicago law firm. He graduated from the University of Michigan with a B.B.A. and with a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School.

Mr. and Mrs. Nathan work and reside in Chicago. They have two grown sons, Robert and Scott.
