About Ross

The Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan is consistently recognized as one of country's premier management schools. In 2004, the Wall Street Journal named the Ross School the number one business school, citing its emphasis on real-world experience, which prepares its graduates to start making an impact on their first day on the job. The Ross School's slogan, Leading in Thought and Action, underscores its commitment to high-quality scholarship and management training that enables students to complete projects that affect real companies well beyond the walls of the University.

The Ross School has also been recognized for its cutting-edge research and curriculum on the social and environmental impacts of business, with talented faculty in nearly every department either actively teaching or publishing on these topics. Furthermore, several of the school's major research centers and student clubs are devoted to these issues and provide students with a wide range of options to develop skills that will help them address many of the world's most pressing problems.

The Ross School's rigorous curriculum is designed to promote excellence in each one of the core business functions, so students receive first-rate instruction across the board. MBA/MS Program students spend either their first or second year of the program completing the Ross School's "core" curriculum, which culminates in a 7-week, off-campus Multidisciplinary Action Project (MAP). Erb students also take Ross School elective courses throughout all three years of the program and are renowned for their unique contributions to discussions on traditional business issues.
