The e8 scholarship supports outstanding students pursuing advanced studies in sustainable energy development and encourages meaningful contributions to the collective body of knowledge about this subject. Fellowships
The U.S.
Environmental
Protection Agency
(EPA), National
Center for
Environmental
Research (NCER),
offers Science to
Achieve Results
(STAR) Fellowships
for graduate
environmental study
for master’s and
doctoral level
students. Subject to
availability of
funding, the Agency
typically awares
approximately 100
new fellowships each
year. Master's level
students may receive
support for a
maximum of two

University Women (AAUW)
The American
Association of
University Women is
a national
organization that
promotes education
and equity for all
women and girls.

The Edna Bailey
Sussman Foundation
The Edna Bailey
Sussman Foundation
supports internships
for students
matriculated in
graduate degree
programs at nine
institutions,
including the
University of
Michigan.
Between 1985 and
2004, 277 graduate
students received
$822,952 to pursue
"careers, the
activities of which
affect the
environment, to
understand the
interaction of their
chosen profession
with environmental

When searching for
scholarships, don’t
forget:
- Your home
state - lots of
states have
special funding
opportunities
for their
residents, even
if they are
studying
somewhere else.
- Your
affiliations,
from your
religion to the
professional
organizations to
which you
belong.
- Your sexual
orientation and
ethnic
background.
- Fraternities
and sororities -
most Greek
houses have
scholarships for
students
returning to
graduate school.
- Membership
in academic
societies (such
as Phi Kappa Phi
and Phi Beta
Kappa).
